NSART has launched the first Kazakhstani space R&D laboratory in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) under the NSART Gateway program with the support of QazTrade. The project's partners are Space Lab, Pnode, and King Saud University — one of the largest universities in the region.
In the laboratory, the team develops and tests satellite communication technologies. Key areas for 2026: satellite IoVIT communication terminals, IoT sensors, and telecommunications satellite solutions. Pilot projects are planned to launch in the first half of 2026, with a move to commercial scaling in the second half. The expected export and investment impact is around $50 million.
The opening is especially symbolic: 2026 has been declared the Year of AI and High-Tech Exports in Kazakhstan, while Saudi Arabia is actively developing its space industry as part of Saudi Vision 2030.
